Titan Mattress Review

Titan Mattress offers great, sturdy mattresses for plus-sized people who sink in too far on other mattresses or those who exceed the weight restrictions imposed by other mattress companies. These mattresses will perform well and last long, even while holding greater weights.

TYPES

What bed sizes does Titan Mattress offer?

Titan Mattress Titan Mattress offers mattresses in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, and Split California King sizes.

What type of mattresses does Titan Mattress offer?

One size doesn't fit all when it comes to mattresses. Some people prefer a softer feel that cradles them gently while others prefer a mattress that feels as firm as a board. To help everyone find a mattress that works well for them, Titan offers two different mattress models.

While finding the right mattress can be challenging for everyone, it can be even harder for those who fall in the overweight category or those who weigh more because they're taller than average. With some mattress companies offering models that only work for those who are under 300 pounds or sometimes only 240 pounds, finding a mattress when you weigh more than that can be difficult.

  • Titan Firm Hybrid: The Titan Firm Hybrid mattress is excellent for back and stomach sleepers because it is firm and offers substantial support. Capable of supporting up to 1,000 pounds, it works well for solo sleepers or those who share their bed.
  • Titan Luxe Hybrid: Designed for back and stomach sleepers, this mattress isn't as firm as the Titan Firm Hybrid so it's easier on pressure points and gives a softer feel. It offers a middle-of-the-road medium firmness that will be a good compromise for couples who have different sleep preferences and styles.

Which Titan Mattress mattress type is best?

Titan Mattress has tailored both of its mattresses to fit the needs of plus-sized sleepers. They don't promote one mattress over the other -- they are straightforward with information about each of the mattresses so that customers can decide which one will be best suited for them. To allow customization to make the mattress more comfortable, you can add a cooling top panel to either of their mattress models.

Which sleeping position is best for Titan Mattress mattresses?

Since Titan Mattress offers two different mattress types with unique feels and firmness levels, they're able to address the needs of every type of sleeper, whether they prefer to sleep on their stomach, side, or back. Back sleepers may find either mattress model comfortable, while stomach sleepers will likely prefer the Titan Firm Hybrid and side sleepers may have better luck with the Titan Luxe Hybrid.

Which body type is best for Titan Mattress mattresses?

Since Titan mattresses are targeted at plus-sized sleepers, people who are underweight or on the lower side of average weight may not experience the full range of benefits from these mattresses that plus-sized sleepers will. They may find that they don't sink in enough while using them, and they will have the best success with the Titan Luxe Hybrid.

COMFORT

Is a Titan Mattress mattress firm or soft?

While plus-sized sleepers all require great support from their mattresses, they will all have different opinions about what constitutes a comfortable mattress. For some, a mattress that feels plush and softer will be comfortable, but for others, a firm feel is preferable. If you share a bed with a partner, you'll have to find a solution that works well for both of you, which can be even trickier when mattress shopping.

Titan Mattress understands that finding the right mattress is a matter of preference, and they want each plus-sized sleeper to find a mattress they love. To hit that goal, they offer two firmness options so that every type of sleeper will be able to get a good night's sleep on a mattress that provides excellent support. Whether you choose the softer feel or the firmer feel, Titan Mattress makes all their models highly durable so they can serve plus-sized sleepers and so that their mattresses will hold up well year after year.

  • Medium-Firm: The Titan Luxe Hybrid features medium-firm support. This option is excellent for average-weight sleepers who share a bed with a plus-sized sleeper. It gives both partners support while offering a softer touch that they can both enjoy. You'll get all the benefits of the original Titan Firm Hybrid with extra contouring for more comfort for pressure point relief.
  • Firm: If you're a stomach or back sleeper who has less pain when you're on a firm mattress, the Titan Firm Hybrid is better suited to you. This mattress was the original one offered by Titan Mattress, and it ranks higher on the firmness level than the middle-of-the-road Titan Luxe Hybrid does. This one is an excellent choice for partners who are both plus-sized and share the same love of firm mattresses. To give it extra support, it uses individually encased coils and a high-density foam base.

Does Titan Mattress provide back support?

Titan mattresses are made to support plus-sized sleepers, which can help them tremendously with back pain. Back pain can be caused by mattresses that don't provide enough support for the correct spinal alignment. For plus-sized sleepers, mattresses that sag in the middle might cause back pain. Both Titan mattress models are designed to hold up to 1,000 pounds, so their durability and support may help alleviate back pain.

Does Titan Mattress relieve pain?

Many plus-sized people can experience pain while sleeping on mattresses made for average-sized people because there isn't enough support to keep them comfortable long term. A mattress can quickly wear down when the weight limit is exceeded on a nightly basis, leading to sagging, excessive flattening of foams, and other issues.

Titan Mattress has created two mattress models that are built with tough, quality materials and a design that's meant to shoulder additional weight. Their customers have given them good marks for pain relief when they've switched to Titan mattresses.

The Titan Hybrid uses an eight-inch core of individually encased coils that provide additional lift and more durability, which means your mattress will be comfortable for years. The medium firmness offers enough pressure point relief while still providing the solid surface plus-sized sleepers need. The one-inch layer of gel memory foam will cut down on the body impressions that make a mattress less comfortable, while the two-inch layer of patented foam provides responsive contouring.

If a firmer bed is what you're after, you'll still experience great pain relief by using the Titan Firm Hybrid mattress. It uses a thicker layer of high-density foam at the base to add more durability, so your bed will be firm and it won't start to sag shortly after you've bought it. The individually encased 13.5-gauge coils in this mattress are exceptionally strong.

While these mattresses are great at cutting down on the pain sleepers feel, they also provide other benefits. Sleepers who share their bed won't wake up as much in the night because the individually encased coils cut down on motion transfer. That means that your partner won't feel as much movement if you toss and turn all night, so they can get a better night of sleep.

Both of these mattresses also have enhanced edge support, which is one of the prime areas standard mattresses show wear and tear for plus-sized sleepers. Protecting those edges is important for additional comfort while sleeping.

If you have breathing issues that can be triggered by severe off-gassing or if you want to live a life where you're exposed to as few toxins and chemical smells as possible, you'll like that the foam used in Titan mattresses is Certi-PUR-US certified. That means it is toxin-free, so you won't have to worry about the air you're breathing as you nod off to sleep. While there is a slight smell for the first few hours after you unpack your mattress, it dissipates quickly.

Does the Titan Mattress mattress keep cool at night?

It's easy to overheat while you sleep, and no one likes the feeling of sweaty, clingy clothes and sheets. To help combat that, Titan offers a layer of gel memory foam that adds additional cooling as you snooze. They also give you the option of adding a cooling top panel while you're ordering your mattress.

MATERIALS

Titan Mattress Construction

Titan uses a combination of hundreds of individually wrapped coils in each of their mattress types, as well as layers of foam for durability and comfort. These layers work together to create a unique support system that will allow plus-sized sleepers the ability to have a comfortable and durable mattress that will grow old with them. They won't have to worry about premature mattress replacements with Titan.

What are Titan Mattress mattresses made from?

Titan Mattress uses premium materials in their mattresses, including heavy-duty coils that will stand the test of time. Other materials used in the mattress construction include gel memory foam, another patented foam layer that allows for responsive contouring and pressure point relief, high-density foam for more durability, and an optional cooling panel for the top.

They don't skimp on quality to ensure their mattresses are strong enough to hold up to exceptional wear and tear. The Titan Luxe Hybrid stands 13 inches tall with six layers, while the Titan Firm Hybrid is 11 inches tall with five layers.

Does the Titan Mattress mattresses come in a box?

Titan mattresses will be delivered in a box, so you'll simply take it out and unwrap the plastic cover. Your mattress will start decompressing and expanding rapidly, although it may not be fully finished expanding until 24 hours after you've removed it from the packaging.

Does Titan Mattress need a special foundation?

You'll need some sort of foundation for your Titan mattresses. If you don't already have one or want to upgrade your existing foundation, Titan does sell some, but they don't require or even strongly recommend that you buy one of theirs. If you do want to check out Titan's foundations, they offer a super duty high rise platform model and an Ascension bi-fold foundation. They also offer a tool-free basic frame.

If you don't buy one of Titan's support foundations, you'll need a support system that has minimal to no flex, whether it's a platform, box spring, or slat foundation. If you use a slatted foundation, the slats shouldn't be more than four inches apart to ensure the proper support. If you're using your existing foundation, look it over carefully to ensure that it is stable, sturdy, and not missing any pieces.

It's always important to carefully consider the foundation you're using with a new mattress because an insufficient one can lead to premature sagging and even cause your mattress to have to be replaced sooner than it should be. A poor foundation can also void your warranty, which is one reason you shouldn't keep your mattress on the floor for sleeping unless you've cleared it with the mattress company first.

Caring for your Titan Mattress mattress

Both of Titan's mattress types should be rotated every six to eight months for a fresh feel and to perform their best. But they should never be flipped over because they are created with comfort layers on the top and the supportive layers on the bottom.

If you stain your mattress at some point, you can clean it by spot cleaning. You'll use a mild detergent and gently dab it in before dabbing it again with a clean, damp sponge or washcloth. Titan Mattress does recommend using a mattress protector to keep it safe from spills and dust mites, and to maximize the life of your mattress.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Titan Mattress Delivery

Titan mattresses are conveniently delivered to your doorstep in a box, which makes them easy to move to your bedroom, especially if you have small hallways or tight corners. Once you're in the bedroom you'll use the mattress in, you can unpack it and let it start expanding. They recommend that you keep it in the box for no more than three weeks after it arrives.

Titan doesn't list an option for removing your old mattress on their website, but it does offer free shipping.

Titan Mattress Return Policy

Most customers are highly satisfied with Titan mattresses, but the company does offer a 120-night sleep trial just in case you decide your mattress isn't a good fit for your body type or sleep style. To help you avoid the hassle of having to return your mattress, you should look at what type of sleeper you are and figure out whether you prefer a firmer feel or a softer touch. If you're a stomach sleeper, for instance, you won't want a mattress that sinks in too far when you are resting on it because it can throw your spine out of its proper alignment.

If you try your new mattress for a week or two and you find that you're uncomfortable, don't worry. You might still be getting used to the feel of it and you may still end up loving it after you adjust to it. Titan requires that you use your new mattress for at least 30 days before you return it. That's because they say it takes approximately 30 to 45 nights for your mattress to break in, and during that time, your body will be adjusting to the feel of the new mattresses.

If you decide to return it, you won't face additional shipping fees in most cases. Any shipping charges that are paid from those who live in Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada are non-refundable, which is important to note if you live in one of those regions.

You'll only be able to use the 120-night trial period once per calendar year, so if you're looking to upgrade more than one mattress at a time, that's something you should be aware of. If you have any questions about how return policies work, you can contact the customer service team at Titan mattress. They'll let you know what you need to do to begin the return process.

Titan Mattress Financing Options

If you buy a mattress through Titan, you have the option to finance it through Klarna. You can stretch your payments out for six months if you qualify, and you might be given a zero percent annual percentage rate, which wouldn't add any additional cost to your purchase should you choose to finance it.

Titan Mattress Warranties

Titan Mattress believes in the quality and comfort of their products, which is why they offer a 10-year warranty on their mattresses. If you experience a defect in the mattress during that time, Titan will either replace or repair it. The warranty won't cover normal wear and tear for issues such as an increase in softness after you've broken in your mattress and a normal decrease in the amount of recovery in the materials.

If you use an improper foundation, your mattress warranty will be voided. If your mattress comes with handles on the side, you should not use them to lift up or move the mattress or it will also void your warranty.
