What are Birch mattresses made from?

They use high-quality organic, Fair Trade cotton, organic wool, natural latex, natural rayon, and individually wrapped steel coils to construct their mattresses. Does the Birch mattresses come in a box?

Does Birch need a special foundation?

If you like flexibility about whether you should use a foundation and what type you should use, Birch mattresses may be a good fit for you. Birch suggests using a bunkie board that has a box spring or any type of foundation or frame that features flat, firm, and thick slats. If you are using a foundation with slats, Birch says they should be more than five inches apart because it can lead to sagging. If you use slats that are farther apart than five inches, your warranty may not be honored. 

If you prefer to use an adjustable base rather than a set foundation, that is allowed. For those who don't already have an adjustable base but want to try one, Birch offers the Helix adjustable base for an additional cost. It uses a remote control and features foot and head massage functions. If you aren't a fan of adjustable bases, Birch also offers the Birch Foundation and a wood frame that will both adhere to the requirements in Birch's warranty.

Caring for your Birch mattress 

To keep your mattress feeling balanced, you may rotate your Birch mattress every six months if you want. It isn't a requirement, but it can help your mattress feel fresher and springier. It's especially a good idea to do this is the sleeper falls into the overweight category. You shouldn't flip over your mattress, however, because the layers are placed strategically and will only work with the base layer at the bottom. 

If you spill something on your mattress and stain it, you can use a damp sponge and a tiny amount of mild detergent to dab at the stain until it is removed.

Birch Delivery

Birch mattresses will be delivered to your doorstep in a box which makes it convenient for you to take into your bedroom for an easy setup. Because of COVID concerns, the company has suspended its mattress removal program, so you'll have to dispose of your old mattress yourself, either by giving it away, selling it, or discarding it. 

With Birch, you'll get free shipping for new mattresses. If you decide to return it after the trial period, Birch will work with their partners near your location to pick up your mattress so it can be recycled or donated.

Birch Return Policy

While online mattress companies are popular because of their convenience, Birch mattresses aren't available in any store for you to try before you buy one. For that reason, they have a simple return policy if your new mattress doesn't work for you.

They allow consumers to try out their mattresses for 100 nights. Having that long of a sleep trial allows customers to give their bodies a chance to adjust to their new mattress. If you're still not happy with it after your body has had time to adjust to it, you can return it hassle-free. They do require, however, that you try the mattress for at least 30 nights to fully break it in before you decide you don't want to keep it. 

If you return it, Birch will do its best to arrange for pick up so the mattress can be recycled or donated. Birch's customer service department can walk you through the process if you have any questions.

Birch Financing Options

Birch offers a limited-time zero percent APR financing through Klarna for customers with high enough credit scores. Even if you don't qualify for zero percent APR financing, you still might receive a low-interest APR offer. They also give customers the option of paying in four interest-free installments on their credit or debit cards.

Birch Warranties

With a 25-year limited warranty, Birch mattresses present a low-risk investment for consumers looking for pain-free sleep. The warranty protects consumers against any manufacturer defects in the workmanship or materials of the mattress.   

The first ten years of the warranty give you full coverage against any non-excluded defects. If there is a covered issue, Birch will either replace or repair the mattress, and you won't pay anything.

For the remaining years of the warranty, Birch will replace the mattress, but the consumer will pay a prorated charge. In year 11, the consumer will have to pay 50 percent of the original purchase price to get a replacement mattress. That increases each year by five percent until the 20th year. During the 21st year or after, the prorated charge will be 95 percent of the original purchase price.
